Amelie had another photo shoot this morning. It seems like it's been a while since I really photographed her and I saw this dress in the closet, knowing it would probably be the last time she could fit into it, so...
As you know, she's been rolling over for quite some time and now she's trying to crawl. I can't believe it! I never knew a baby could roll so dang fast! She is getting into all kinds of things now! And she thinks it's so funny when we catch her rolling off her mat and onto the concrete floor, which leads me into our next update.
We FINALLY bought our bamboo wood flooring for the downstairs area - and not a moment too soon! I am so excited about it! Now we just have to find time to install it. This past weekend Rick put up a new ceiling fan, which seems like a fairly simple task until you realize that its attached to a 19' ceiling and we had to rent scaffolding in order to reach it. FYI, scaffolding - not so simple to build when the store left out key parts, ug. I think we made six trips to the hardware store before the fan project was complete but it looks and feels wonderful! Rick even added a fancy remote that does all sorts of things.
Also, Amelie has been teething for what seems like a very long time but they are finally starting to push through. She will get a bottom tooth in first and then a top tooth. She is always completely intrigued when watching me brush my teeth but I'm not sure how she will like the finger brush in her own mouth. (I can say that from my experience brushing Zoe and Tiggers' teeth!)
She's been going to bed earlier and staying asleep longer, which is wonderful. She probably sleeps about 12 hours at night now. And then she takes a 3-4 hour nap during the day and another 1-2 hour nap.
Lastly, that girl has been chatting up a storm. She's been saying "Mama" and "Dada" for quite some time. And she has known the names of our fur kids too. We will say "Where's Zoe (or Tiggers)?" and she will look right at them. But yesterday she said "Doggie" when looking at Zoe, twice! Watch the video...
(In the words of her Daddy, 'That's the smartest baby ever!' hehe)
