Sugars, Carbs, Go Away, Come Back Another Day

I went to the grocery store today and stocked up on easy to prepare meals for when the baby comes home and we don't have the time or energy to make dinner. I got all kinds of meat that I prepped and froze and my favorite comfort soups and a ton of fresh and frozen vegetables. Then I had a moment of weakness... no, not ice cream (that was the old me)... Nutra-Grain bars. Isn't it sad that THAT is my weakness?! But they have a lot of sugar and carbs which I do not need right now. Most people say I look small for being on the verge of delivery and I attribute that to Rick staying on my tail about minimizing sugar and white flour intake. Thanks honey! We want a 7 lb, not a 9 lb + baby. Also, those things can cause more harm than you think. They can contribute to massive hemorrhaging, extra amniotic fluid, and larger baby (ouch factor), and it could also cause the baby to high blood sugar which could affect it the rest of its life. Who wants any of that? So, I try to stick to a healthy diet of oatmeal, nuts, eggs, milk, pbj's, cottage cheese, fruits (but not more than 2 servings per day) lots of meat (baby needs lots of protein), and vegetables. And I only drink water and caffeine-free red raspberry leaf tea, which is supposed to make my uterus strong. Oh yeah, and a ton of vitamins, yuck.
