So we told the family about our new addition. Here's how it happened. Everyone was at Ashley and Jason's house for a Zamorano celebratory party. Jason graduated from the Deer Park Fire Academy, Maverick had his end of school concert, and it was Gwendolynn's birthday. The Bauer's went to Maverick's concert while the Zamorano's went to Jason's graduation. Then everyone met at Ashley and Jason's house to watch the videos and pictures of each. I wanted to go first because Maverick's performance was so precious. I put my camera chip into the television and everyone gathered around to see. Jason was flipping through to get the right display channel when all of a sudden our ultrasound picture popped up on the screen titled 'BABY WEBER'! I was next to the screen as they all stared at it asking 'what is this?!' I looked at Rick with a 'deer in the headlights' look and he immediately darted for the door. He had in his car a beautiful wooden box of cigars for this very moment. Let me tell you how excited this man is... he's wanted a child for so long and was ready to shout it from the mountains! I, on the other hand, was still very nervous about the whole thing and wanted to wait until after the first trimester to start telling people. But, my family was about to be vacation-bound so Rick talked me into telling people on this evening, even though this was not the way we planned to tell them. So Rick came back in with his box of cigars (he hand stained the box and put the ultrasound picture on the inside top). Everyone wanted to know if the picture was real, their mouths all hanging open and staring at me as my face grew red with embarrassment. I did the only thing I could... I put the spotlight on Rick to break the news. He opened his box and said 'SURPRISE, we're pregnant!' They were all in shock and disbelief but eventually they all started clapping and hugging us, saying 'Congratulations!' although it took a few seconds for Rick's mom, Janet, to catch on! My mom was upset because she thought we had gotten a puppy! Gamaw cried and said 'I thought this day would never come!' Ashley still didn't believe the news the next day. (I wanted her to be the first person I told) While it didn't happen exactly as planned, I think it went over well.
